WHAT IS HYPNOTHERAPY?

Hypnotherapy involves the medical use of hypnosis, in combination with many other therapy techniques, to bring about beneficial changes that the client seeks. The use of hypnosis enables the client to deeply implant into their subconscious the therapeutic changes they want to make, enabling them in forward growth and development. It requires the full participation of the client, as they cannot be made to do anything against their will, or moral and ethical views.

Focusing attention both consciously and unconsciously accelerates the individual's ability and confidence to make lifestyle changes, and with the use of hypnotherapy, provides a series of tools with which to deal with day to day life in a positive, and progressive manner. Additional bonuses to the individual are increased self-esteem, enthusiasm, and autonomy.

Hypnotic techniques can induce everything from a light to a heavy hypnotic state to help a client overcome psychological or physical problems. From helping people to overcome a craving for cigarettes to managing chronic pain from an illness or accident, trained hypnotherapists work with a wide variety of problems. More and more people today are seeking to take control of their personal wellbeing.  This involves anything from caring for their body as much as their thought patterns. A thought, conscious or otherwise, proceeds action. Hypnotherapy can also enable the client's "enlightenment" - by this it is not meant in terms of spiritual awareness, but self awareness.

Hypnotherapy is the application of hypnosis as a form of medical therapy, usually for relieving pain or conditions related to one's state of mind. Practitioners believe that when a client enters, or believes he has entered, a state of trance, the patient is more receptive to suggestion and other therapy. The most common use of hypnotherapy is to remedy maladies like obesity, smoking, pain, ego, anxiety, stress, amnesia, phobias, and performance but many others are also treated by hypnosis.
